TAP Extended Orientation Session

All TAP students must attend session 1, 2 or 3 summer orientation. This is an additional extended orientation required for all TAP students before classes begin.  Additional registration for this extended program is not required.

Students

Students do not pay any additional registration fees when registering for summer orientation.

However, a $350 orientation fee is assessed for all incoming students regardless of orientation attendance. This fee is part of your overall charges and is included in your payment arrangements with Student Financial Services.


Families

Each student is limited to two guests.

Parents/guardians/guests attending orientation will be charged a fee of $40 per person. One-day programs will be charged $25 per person.

This fee includes meals, programming and materials. Parents/guardians/guests may not pay for items on an individual or a la carte basis.

Fees are non-refundable and are not prorated.


Additional Details

Summer Orientation includes one-night accommodations in our residence hall (quad occupancy), select meals, workshops and entertainment. Winter and Spring term orientation is a 1-day program.

 

Family Fee

Family members are encouraged to attend Orientation. Students can bring up to 2 immediate family members.

Housing

Family members may NOT reside in campus housing. You must make arrangements for your own accommodations.

 

Transportation

JWU transportation is NOT available from area hotels to campus. Public transportation may be costly. Family members are strongly encouraged to rent a car.

The program matches, dollar-for-dollar, JWU’s contributions to help veterans cover expenses above the maximum in-state public college tuition cost.

If you qualify with at least 36 months of active duty, the program also provides assistance toward fees, housing, books and supplies.
