Orientation is a mandatory, two-day program, for all students including commuters and transfer students.
Spring orientation is for students beginning coursework in Spring Semester 2021.
Registration begins November 23rd, 2020
Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte has a two-part New Student Orienation for all new incoming student.
Johnson & Wales University offers a Virtual Orientation for students this is mandatory for all incoming students. Students are encouaged to sit down with their families and guest and particpate in the Virtual Orientation. Please log into JWU.LINK.EDU after November 23rd 2020 for the self-guided New Student Orientation.

**Attending either winter or spring term NSO session and living on campus for the term you will move into your residential hall the prior to your orientation session. For more information about move-in, or your room assignments, please contact Residential Life at 980-598-1800.
Throughout Orientation, you will have time set aside to meet with your Orientation Leader. All Orientation Leaders are current student leaders who are working with the Office of Orientation & First-Year Initiatives to assist new students with their entry into the university community.
Group meetings will provide you an opportunity to hear from a true expert on what life is really like on campus and will also allow you to have your questions answered in a small group format.
During Summer Orientation, you have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Financial Planner.
If documentation was requested from you (income tax returns, verification worksheet, loan application(s), etc.) and you have not yet mailed the requested documentation to the university, please print and bring the documents with you to your appointment.
Financial Planners will be on hand to review your financial options, assist with the completion of loan applications and entrance interviews, and to help you finalize payment methods.
During Summer Orientation, you will have the opportunity to complete a number of Check-In items. Completion of these items during the summer will allow you extra time during Wildcat Welcome to move into your residence hall room and participate in Wildcat Welcome programs.
Items that you will complete during Summer Orientation include:
*A student's first ID card and culinary uniform initial supply will be issued without cost. Students must pay for parking permits, books, supplies, and other items purchased in the Bookstore.
All orientation registration confirmations, important information, and updates will be sent your Johnson & Wales Wildcat Email Account.
Please check this on a daily basis to ensure you have the most up to date information about your orientation session.
All students are required to participate in ALL activities of the orientation session, and abide by the Student Code of Conduct, outlined in the Charlotte Student Handbook .

Alcohol and drugs of any kind are prohibited from Johnson & Wales University. During your stay at JWU, you are expected to abide by the university’s alcohol and drug policies which prohibit you from possessing and/or consuming alcohol or other drugs. Violations of these policies will be referred to Campus Safety & Security and/or the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. In addition, violations will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct for immediate action.
Any violation of the Code of Student Conduct could result in the rescinding of your acceptance to the university.
